Hand folding services

PRODUCT DETAILS
This service will hand fold pieces that cannot be folded by a machine. Such as 14 or 18 point paper which are too thick to be folded by a machine or pieces that are too slick. The paper still must be scored to be hand folded. 

Hand folding may add one or several additional days to your production time depending upon the quantity of items that need to be folded. Please inquire about the additional time needed if your order is +20,000 pieces.

COST
Your cost will vary based on the number of folds. Type of fold does not effect cost; for instance a C-fold or a Z-fold cost the same since either fold type only have 2 folds. Cost is based on the number of pieces folded and NOT the quantity of mailers. Therefore if require two items to be hand folded and be put into a mailer then your cost will be double.

USPS Flexibility test
If your hand folded pieces are too rigid then your mail piece may incur a surcharge. USPS will apply additional fees if your piece does not pass the flexibility text explained below. For a full explanation of the physical standards of your mail piece, please refer to this USPS document.
  • Place the piece with the length parallel to the edge of a flat surface and extend the piece halfway off the surface.
  • Press down on the piece at a point 1 inch from the outer edge, in the center of the piece's length, exerting steady pressure.
  • The piece is not flexible if it cannot bend at least 1 inch vertically without being damaged.
  • The piece is flexible if it can bend at least 1 inch vertically without being damaged and it does not contain a rigid insert. No further testing is necessary.

1-5 day turnaround (additional days)
  1 to 5 full business days. This is production time and it doesn't include any shipping time. These days are in addition to your turnaround time required for your mailers. This turnaround time begins after your mailers have been completed. Turnaround time is based on the quantity table shown below:
