What is tracking

This page gives you the ability to track your email in the USPS mail stream. Only following types of presorted mail (discounted postage) are traceable. Type of mail piece (letter vs postcard vs self-mailer) has no effect on traceability.

First class pre-sort (postage imprint or pre-canceled postage)
Standard class pre-sort (postage imprint or pre-canceled postage)
Non-profit mail (postage imprint or pre-canceled postage)

We uniquely bar code each mailing job. Therefore as your mail passes through various facilities in the mail stream and is scanned, it's progress is reported to us by USPS. Note that each piece of mail can be scanned multiple times depending upon destination. For instance, a 3000 piece mailing job can produce +5000 scans. Additionally, USPS does not guarantee that every mail piece will be scanned either. The main purpose of this system is to give you a general idea of the stage of processing your job is in and how much of your pieces have delivered in which regions. This system is not designed to track each one your mail pieces accurately such as Priority or Express service.

Available reports

Currently you can generate three types of reports which will show you what portion of your mail has already been delivered or is nearing delivery. Enter your five digit job number in the field below and select the report you would like to run.

Job Number:

	Progress report: This report shows how many scans have been recorded at different processing levels. Mail processing begins at "phase 1" and is delivered at "phase 3c". Phase 3c is the sorting by the local mail carrier before is taken out for delivery. Note that each piece of mail can be scanned multiple times depending upon destination.
	General delivery report: This report shows number of scans at Phase 3c. Phase 3c is the sortation done at the local Post Office before mail is taken out by the postal carrier. This report is broken down by general geographical area.
	Detailed delivery report: This report shows number of scans at Phase 3c. Phase 3c is the sortation done at the local Post Office before mail is taken out by the postal carrier. This report is broken down by detailed district area.
